Frequently Asked Questions

Boutique Psychotherapy focuses on our clients receiving comprehensive, intentional therapy in which the goals established at the beginning of therapy are achieved within 1 year of psychotherapeutic sessions.
Most practices encourage clients to come in but do not clarify when you can expect to leave. We want to empower our clients to come and address the issues in their lives that they need to work through to live their best life. We gain our success by not relying on you for ours.
When you meet your goals, we meet ours, and it’s our ethical responsibility to empower you to be the best version of yourself while you’re with us, but not reliant on us.
-
You will meet with our clinical coordinator to discuss what you’re looking for in a therapist and from your experience in therapy. With this information, our clinical coordinator will match you with a therapist on our team who can help you achieve your goals in therapy.

We provide therapy with a unique protocol. We recommend clients see their therapist:
1 x a week for 3 months
2x a month for 3-6 months
1 x a month for 3 months
this results in about 21-27 sessions in a year and allows you to achieve your goals.
If you’d like to work with a therapist weekly, we can absolutely arrange for this support. We just want to empower our clients to come in with goals that you work in therapy to achieve in a reasonable amount of time.
-
We provide in-person therapy at our office on 31st and Fifth avenue, and virtually via our HIPAA compliant telehealth platform.
-
We do not take insurance, but we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
-
We value the mental health of our clients and clinicians. While we understand a client’s desire to see a therapist who takes insurance, often times practice’s who take insurance have therapists seeing approximately 30 people or more per week, which we find to be an unrealistic caseload for maintaining the mental health of our clinicians.
For this reason we developed the 21-27 session protocol to ensure that our clients receive comprehensive therapy over a reasonable amount of time, with achieving their therapeutic goals in mind.
-

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify your therapist as soon as possible.
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. We implement this to respect your time, and the time of our clinicians. We only work with a small group of individuals, so when an appointment becomes available, we do our best to offer it
No-show appointments, including cancellations within 3 hours of appointment time, will be charged at your therapist's standard session rate. These fees are waived for extenuating circumstances and are up to the discretion of the practice.
